ORGANISATION BEING CREATED (Speciai to Daily Times) - AUCKLAND; June. 22. ■■;■ According to prominent growers in the fruit industry an organisation is now being created to take over the control and marketihj of fruit throughout the Dominion on the lines suggested in April last by the Fruit Marketing Committee. The name of Mr F. R.. Picot, Director of Internal Marketing, of Pigs and Allied Products, is freely mentioned, as the likely director of fruit marketing under the Primary. Products Marketing Department. It is as-, sumed that Mr Picot will embrace the new position with the one he now holds. The control is stated as likely to be comprehensive, embracing all types of fruit, even to blackberries. Information is now being obtained regarding the consumption of various tvpes of fruit in cities and for the essential feature of the scheme once it is in operation is so to regulate the supply at the various points of distribution as to ensure that there shall be no glut. Apparently there is no intention at the moment to extend the scheme to vegetables, although the inclusion of vegetables was one of the recommendations of the committee. Apparently the Government proposes to work very much on the lines of the recommendations of the committee so far as fruit is concerned. ,
