(Received June 22, at 6.30 p.m.) "As a thanks offering for Mr Stanley Baldwin's courageous, farseeing and sympathetic handling of a supremely difficult situation," an anonymous British donor has placed £ 250,000 at Mr Baldwin's disposal to endow " any object best calculated to strengthen still further the ties of the dominions with the United Kingdom, who once more have demonstrated their solidarity in a time of emergency." Announcing his acceptance of the gift, Mr Baldwin states that steps will be taken towards the creation of an independent trust, which will be empowered to allocate the money in the interests of inter-Imperial relations.
