NEW ZEALAND BUTTER
(From Our Own Correspondent) (By Air Mail) LONDON, May 19. The produce section of the Manchester Chamber of Commerce has submitted to Mr Walter Nash, the New Zealand Minister of Finance. Customs and Marketing, a memorandum on the subject of the distribution of New Zealand butler in the Manchester area, reports the Manchester Evening News.
This is in response to Mr Nash’s suggestion on the occasion of his visit during March. Among the proposals advanced was a revision of the system of. distributing agents by which Manchester importers are excluded from buying first hand. An increased use of the Ship Canal for the shipping of butter direct from New Zealand to Manchester was also advocated. It was hoped that this attempt to facilitate sales of New Zealand products in the North of England would react favourably on the export of British manufactured goods to that Dominion.
