BALL AT HERBERT
The Athenaeum Hall at Herbert was the scene of a successful ball held by the bachelors of Otepopo. The hall was gaily decorated with green, gold and black streamers, while round the walls sprigs of greenery added the finishing touches. The secretary (Mr H. Anderson) and his committee were responsible for the efficient manner in which every detail was attended to. Messrs J. Campbell and H. Newson carried out the duties of M.C. Extras were played by Misses F. Hutton, C. Anderson and T. Finlayson, and Mr D. Kedzlie. Mr Heanz delighted the crowd with a tap dance. Among those present were: Mesdames A. Budge, J. Paterson. W. Ford, olive green satin; T. Irvine, floral georgette; J. Bennett, black crepe de chine and lace: R. Finlayson, black crepe de chine and lace; G. M’Mann, red velvet. Misses Newson, blue chiffon: M. Familton, blue satin and velvet; M. Currie, lace; G. Currie, pink silk velvet; M. Watson, gold lame; Grace Miles, white georgette; A. Paterson, black silk velvet; D. Ross, pink cloque; W. Simpson, eggshell blue; M. Irvine, deep cream silk velvet: J. Hore, lemon georgette and lace; J. Falls, shell pink georgette: D. Wilson, black velvet and silver shimmer: I.
