WATERLOO CUP MEETING (Per United Press Association) MASTERTON, June 20. The Waterloo Cup coursing meeting was concluded on Saturday in fine weather. Unusual positions arose in the cup contest in the two semi-finals being run by the same owners —Messrs Wing and Butcher, of Masterton. Details:— CUP SEMI-FINAL Wing and Butcher's (Masterton) Why Hurry (Why Worry—Gay Parade) beat Archer Brothers' (Carterton) Golden King (Golden Wings—Jack's Lady) 4-J —1-3. Wing and Butcher's Rereatu (Duco— Silver Hope) beat R. Walton's (Waihi) Tomatoe (Cin Paph—Worthy Queen). 6A—O. No final was run. The finals of the other events resulted:— WATERLOO PLATE D. Grum wood's (Masterton) Roy beat G. Willis's (Patea) Blue Leather, 14—7 i. WATERLOO PURSE C. Huon's (Waihi) Bonanza beat Muir and Ruddy's (Christchurch) Beat. 9—2. The Open Stake and Supplementary Stakes were also decided. The standard of coursing throughout was excellent and the meeting proved very successful in every way.
