HEAVY RAIN IN SYDNEY WIND REACHES HIGH VELOCITY SYDNEY, June 20. (Received June 21, at 0.44 a.m.) Sydney was lashed by a weekend gale, which was accompanied by heavy rain. Since Thursday 5.34 inches of rain has fallen. Between 9 a.m. yesterday and 9 o'clock tonight four inches of rain was recorded. The wind to-day reached a velocity of 56 miles an hour, causing minor damage. The Manly ferry service had to be cancelled owing to Uie high seas. •
