GUN CALIBRES
REQUEST FOR RESTRICTION
JAPAN'S NEGATIVE REPLY
LONDON, June 18
A Tokio correspondent says the Government has decided to answer in the negative the inquiry of the United States whether Japan would restrict gun calibres to 14in.
A similar answer was given to Britain in March, and nothing since lias occurred to make the Japanese Navy more willing to forgo the advantages of liberty and secrecy.
