A FANCY DRESS DANCE

The Lyric Hall, Oamaru, was the scene of colour and gaiety on Monday on the occasion of the fancy dress ball held under the auspices of the Eveline Women’s Institute, as a further effort towards raising funds for the erection of a north-end hall. The hall was crowded with merry-makers. Mesdames Meikle and Bee acted as judges for the fancy costumes. Mr Meikle was M.C. The winners of the various prizes were as follows: —Fancy costume, Mrs Mavs (powder and patches) and Miss Jean Bissett (Early Victorian), equal, 1; men, Mr T. Shirkey (sheik) 1. Original: Mrs P.
