MELBOURNE SERVICE

MAUNGANUI TO REPLACE MARAMA CALLS AT MILFORD SOUND The Union Steam Ship Company announces that the Maunganui (7527 tons) will replace the Marama on the Melbourne-South island-Wel-lington service, commencing from Wellington on Tuesday, October 26, via Bluff and Milford Sound. The Maunganui will maintain the service until her arrival at Wellington on Thursday. April 7 next. It is intended, weather and other circumstances permitting, that the Maunganui will call at Milford Sound, both on the outward and inward voyages. Provision is also being made for two calls at Hobart on the outward voyages. The ompany hopes that, with the entry into the service of a larger and more up-to-date vessel, both passenger and cargo traffic between the South Island and Australia will be stimulated.
