WRESTLING
SPELLMAN TO MEET STEIN One of the most scientific and spectacular wrestling matches ever staged in Dunedin should result in the meeting in the Town Hall on Saturday night between Sammy Stein and Jack Spellman. Their first meeting resulted in a draw. Spellman, who has appeared twice in Dunedin, has established a good reputation by his sensational defeat of Lofty Blomfield some two weeks ago. Stein defeated the formidable Hal Rumberg in the second match of the Dunedin season, and his performance on this occasion left a great impression on those who saw him in action. His speed and precision are remarkable, and he is certainly one of the most finished wrestlers ever seen here. He is a spectacular and polished mover and is an expert in the use of the flying tackle and dropkick. Spellman is also a master of the flying tackle, and, although not so spectacular in its application, his flying tackle is said by experts to be one of the most devastating ever seen in New Zealand. Spellman is aggressive in his tactics and is the possessor of a very telling elbow jolt, and Stein, who can retaliate in this direction if forced to, relies more upon dropkicks and flying tackles to counter this method of attack. Spellman is well known as a former Olympic title-holder and has a good .record as a professional. Although he has never held the world's championship, he is amongst those who are never far from securing it. and Stein has several times been picked as one of the potential champions.
