EXPERIMENTAL FARM RE-ESTABLISHMENT URGED A promise that consideration would be given to the possibility of re-estab-lishing the experimental farm at Gore was given bv the Minister of Agriculture (Mr W. Lee Martin) to a deputation of farmers which waited on him veslerday. It was pointed out by the deputation that an area of 47 acres was previously farmed with success in the district, where it was considered valuable by the farmers, but owing to a lack of finance it had been abandoned during the slump period. If re-established it would serve a useful purpose in dealing with the problems facing the farmers of Eastern SouthThe Minister said the department would be asking for .a considerably augmented vote on the'Estimates this year, and he hoped it would be possible to find the money to enable the farm to be re-established and devoted almost entirely to research and experimental work.
