ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the Otago branch of the New Zealand Friesian Association was held last night, the president (Mr J. C. Robinson) occupying the chair. m x . , Moving the adoption of the annual report and balance sheet, the president said that, while he congratulated the Otago branch on having a credit balance of £25 12s 8d on the years working, it was with a feeling of regret that he reported that there were three country shows that were unable to hold their fixtures on account of the epidemic of infantile paralysis, which, of course, had reduced the expenses. The actual amount spent on shows during the year was £ll la 6d. and the income was £l7 3s sd. as shown on the balance sheet. The question of holding an annual sale had again been given consideration at the September meeting but. after full discussion, it was decided to leave it in the meantime. During the show season he had been knpressed by the quality of the stock at Taieri. Oamaru, and Dunedin, and as the weather had been wet and undesirable it reflected credit on breeders thait their stock was brought forward in such good show condition. During the year toe committee recommended to the head office that Mr J. Marshall, of Kaitangata, and Mr J. Temple, of Island Ciiff. be made official judges and that was agreed to. The following had been appointed junior judges on the recommendation of the Messrs W. W. Garrett, of Sutton,J. J. Stott, of Maruakoa, and M. J. of Middlemarch. , . The report was then adopted.
