FRENCH CHAMPIONSHIPS HENKEL BEATS AUSTIN PARIS, May 30. In the final of the Men’s Singles Henkel defeated Austin 6—l, 6 —4, 6—3. In the final of the Women’s Singles Mrs Sperling defeated Madame Mathieu 6—2, 6—4. FINAL OF MEN’S SINGLES HENKEL DEFEATS AUSTIN PARIS, May 30. (Received May 31, at 8.30 p.m.) Henkel retained the French championship for Germany, fairly and squarely defeating Austin. Henkel was dominant throughout between extremes of cannonball service and dropshots which fell almost dead. Henkel hardly showed any weakness. Critics reeard him as the finest player in after von Cramm. PROFESSIONAL MATCHES LONDON, May 30. Perry and Vines defeated Tilden and Stoeffen 13—11, 10—8.
