RUGBY FOOTBALL
CHARITY SATURDAY SOUTHERN, v. PIRATES To-day is Charity Saturday, and the whole of the proceeds from the " ga.tes " of matches under the control of the Otago Rugby Union will be' divided amongst the Patients and Prisoners' Aid Society, St. John Ambulance Association, Dunedin Hospital and the King George V Memorial Fund. The main attraction at Carisbrook this afternoon will be the match between Pirates and Southern. Southern by its showing so far this season has proved that it will provide l difficult opposition to any team in Otago. Pirates, it is expected, will extend the premier team this afternoon, as the club will have its full strength on the field for the first time this season. As a curtain-raiser the Fourth Grade match Southern v. Union will be played. The starting time this afternoon will be 2.45, not 3 o'clock as previously. At the Caledonian Ground a wellcontested game should be witnessed between Kaikorai and Union. Kaikorai so far has an unbeaten record this season, while Union has been showing much '. improved form. At Tahuna Park Alhambra will play Taieri, and at University Oval Dunedin will meet Zingari-Richmond. All complimentary tickets will be suspended to-day, and ground members are requested to refrain from using their tickets. Ground members' seats, however, will be reserved in the stand as usual. t; Official guides containing full particulars of players and teams will be on sale at the Otago Sports Depot, S. Jacobs's artd atfthe various grounds. ALTERATIONS IN GROUNDS The Second Grade match Pirates B v. Union will be played at Logan Park No. 3 instead of on the North Ground. The Fourth Grade match Port Chalmers v. Alhambra will be played at Ravensbourne instead of at Port Chalmers. The Third Grade match Zingari A v. Dunedin, arranged for University Oval No. 1, will now be played at' University Oval No. 2. The Third Grade match Pirates A v. Southern B will not be played, as Southern is unable to raise a team.
