Lyricist by Chance A collection of lyrics by Margaret Ruddock, to be published under the title "The Lemon Tree," was discovered by W. B. Yeats last year. He recognised immediately the lyrical poignancy of this work. and. in spite of the fact that it was not the writing of an experienced practitioner of versecraft, he included a number of the poems in the " Oxford Anthology of Modern Verse." He has' now written an introductory essay and poem to substantiate his enthusiasm for this collection, and has also included the author's account of her life during the short period while she was seized by the poetic creative mood, an experience quite unexpected and strange to her.
