MOTOR SMASHES

TWO WITHIN A FEW WEEKS AN UNFORTUNATE COUPLE (Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 27. For the second time within a few weeks Mr and Mrs G. Dale, of Remuera, have been involved in a motor smash. They recently spent a month in the Blenheim Hospital as the result of injuries suffered in an accident, when Mr Dale was driving on the Lion's Back Hill in Marlborough. The car left the road, crashing through a wire fence, and falling 300 feet. Mrs Dale suffered a broken arm and was badly bruised, and Mr Dale suffered a broken shoulder and severe concussion. While out driving yesterday for the first time since their return to Auckland their taxi collided with a large saloon car at the intersection of Domain street and Grafton • road. Mr Dale suffered two broken ribs and Mrs Dale, who was in the back seat, was badly shaken. Both are being treated at home by their own doctor. Their daughter Geraldine, aged 14, was admitted to hospital with concussion, and is in a serious condition. Mrs Neville Dickey, aged 20, was also admitted to hospital, but her condition this afternoon was satisfactory.
