' The " girl with a new face," Ruth Williams, 18, of Eldorado, Arkansas (U.S.A.) recently expressed gratitude to the plastic surgeons who gave her an eyelid and rebuilt her features, which were disfigured when she fell into hot cinders at the age of two. After nine operations she was able for the first time in 16 vears to sleep with her eyes closed. Now she feels able to " look the world in the face," since doctors grafted skin from her thigh to her cheeks and forehead, restored her eyebrows and eyelid with her own hair, and moved her nose to its proper position.
