TAIERI FRUITGROWERS' ASSOCIATION
ANNUAL MEETING Mr A. M'Donald (president) presided over a good attendance at the annual meeting of the Taieri Fruitgrowers' Association. The annual report gave a comprehensive survey of the activities of the association during the year, events of importance being the orchardists' employees' wages award, and the proposed Government subsidy to growers of local market tree fruits in order to help to meet the increased wages. Moving the adoption of the annual report and balance sheet the chairman said he was pleased to observe that a satisfactory credit balance had again been realised on the transactions of the past financial year. The New Zealand Fruitgrowers' Federation had received the full support of members with regard to spray materials and other orchard requirements A considerable increase in business was shown 'in comparison with the previous year, this being a cause of much satisfaction to all. Mr R. Dowie, seconding the motion, endorsed the chairman's remarks. The motion was carried. Office-bearers were elected as follows: —President. Mr A. M'Donald; vice-president, Mr D. B. Watt; Finance Committee—Messrs . R. Dowie, D. B. Watt and A. Miller; auditors. Messrs G. J. Mutch and D. B. Watt: secretary and treasurer, Mr A. Miller. Last year's General Committee was re-elected.
