(Received Mar. 3, at 5.5 p.m.) A long list of appointments to the King's household is gazetted. Among the principal are the following:— Lord Chamberlain, Earl Cromer; Lord Steward, Duke of Buccleuch and Queensberry; Master of the Horse, Duke of Beaufort; Treasurer of the Household, Sir George Penny; Comptroller of the Household, Sir Lambert Ward; Vice-chamberlain of the Household, Sir George Davies; Private Secretary, Major Alexander Hardinge; Assistant Private Secretaries— F. H. Mitchell, A. F. Lascelles and Sir Eric Melville; Keeper of the King's Archives, Lord Wigram; Keeper of the Privy Purse, Major Ulick Alexander; Financial Secretary to the King, F. P. Robin; High Almoner, the Archbishop of Canterbury. Prebendary Archville is appointed precentor of the Chapel's Royal, while under the heading of the Medical Household there are 35 appointments headed by Lord Dawson of Penn, Lord Horder, Sir John Weir and Sir Maurice Cassidy. The Earl of Athlone is to be Constable and Governor of Windsor Castle. John Masefield continues to be the poet laureate.
