INTOXICATED MOTORIST
THREE WEEKS’ IMPRISONMENT LICENCE CANCELLED FOR TWO YEARS (Per United Press Association) HASTINGS, Feb. 17. A sentence of three weeks’ imprisonment was imposed on Phillip Neil Partridge, aged 35, when he was charged in the Hastings court to-day with being intoxicated while in charge of a motor vehicle. The accused was also disqualified from holding a licence for the next two years. Partridge had two previous convictions for the same offence. A THIRD OFFENCE £SO FINE IMPOSED (Per United Press Association) FOXTON, Feb. 17. Frederick Waller, farmer, of Himitangi, a third offender, was convicted and fined £SO and prohibited from obtaining a driving licence for three years for driving a motor car while in a state of intoxication. The magistrate (Mr J. Salmon) was on the Bench. Waller was warned by a constable not to drive the car, but ignored the warning. On a charge of driving without a licence he was convicted and ordered to pay costs.
