AMATEUR ATHLETICS

CAVERSHAM AND CIVIL SERVICE CHAMPIONSHIPS The concluding events of the Caversham and Civil Service Harrier and Athletic Clubs’ annual track and field championships were held last evening at the Caledonian Ground in bitterly cold weather conditions. A short programme of cycling events, conducted under the auspices of -the Dunedin Amateur Cycling Club, was also held. MORNINGTON CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS The Mornington Club Championships were held at the Caledonian Grounds recently under fair weather conditions. Competition was keen and performances on the whole were good. Roxburgh and Kennedy were the outstanding performers, the former winning one track and two field titles, besides finishing second in three events, and Kennedy won three track titles and also secured one second and one third placing.
