Ministerial The Minister of Agriculture (Mr W. Lee Martin) will tour Otago, leaving Wellington on Wednesday next ana reaching Pembroke, after an inspection of the Waitaki dam and the Hawea Flat irrigation, on the Friday. The Minister will then remain in the Pembroke district until his departure for Ranfurly on the following Monday, when he will inspect the Manuherikia irrigation scheme. The next day will be devoted to an inspection of the Maniototo scheme. He will reach Cromwell on the Wednesday evening. The Minister will visit Queenstown and Skippers on the Thursday in conjunction with the Minister of Public Works (Mr R. Semple). When at Glenorchy, they will receive a deputation in connection with the Queenstown road. On the Friday the Minister will proceed to Dunedin via Alexandra, Fruitlands, and Roxburgh, inspecting the Teviot irrigation scheme. He will travel to Timaru the next day. The Minister of Public' Works (Mr R. Semple), who is at present engaged on a tour of Otago and Southland, visited the Eglinton Valley and the Homer Saddle yesterday. He will travel to Queenstown to-day and will later proceed to Pembroke and through Central Otago to Kurow and Waimate before returning to Wellington. Mr M. Silverslone left by the express yesterday on his way to Wellington. Mr Waller Ellis left for Christchurch by the second express yesterday. At the annual meeting of the Pert Chalmers Waterside Workers’ Union Mr J. Bain was elected to the office of president, and Mr J. Annan was x-e----clecled secretary. Mr C. Stevens, LL.M., of the staff of Messrs Ramsay and * Haggitt, has joined the firm of Messrs Lee. Grave, and Zimmonnann, Oamaru, as managing clerk. The Union Airways liner Karoro left the Taiori airport at 8.15 yesterday morning for Christchurch, Blenheim, and Palmerston North with Mr E. H. Whiting for Christchurch, Miss A. Allan for Blenheim, and Miss M. Findlay for Palmerston North. The Kotuku arrived from the north at 1.10 p.m. with Mr S. C. Sutherland from Wellington and Mr N. Stewart from Christchurch.
