WOOL FOR JAPAN

IMPORTS FROM AUSTRALIA LICENSES GRANTED TOKIO, Feb. 6. (Received Feb. 7, at 10 p.m.) After consultation with business men the Ministry of Commerce has decided to grant licences to import 300,000 bales of wool from Australia. The Japan Economic Federation is sending a mission composed of important business men to England. Their duty will be not only to adjust British and Japanese relations, but also to try to establish British understanding respecting Japan’s trade with the dominions, because the Japanese remain convinced that British interests were behind the Australian anti-Japanese restrictions and fear similar restrictions in New Zealand, South Africa and elsewhere eventually.
