DUNEDIN JOCKEY CLUB

A visit to Wingatui yesterday was sufficient to show that the course and appointments are in excellent order for the Cup meeting, which will be held on Thursday and Saturday of next week. The track itself is firm and fast, with a nice sole of grass to keep the sting out of it. An excellent list of acceptances has been received for the first day of the meeting, with a field of 15 in the Cup and 10 in the Publican's Handicap, including Gold Boa, who raced so brilliantly at Wellington. The Champagne Stakes will add interest to the first day's card, while the Hazlett Gold Cup, to be run on the second day, is creating a tremendous amount of interest. Altogether, the meeting carries every promise of being one of the most successful the club has experienced for many seasons.
