AUTHOR'S VISIT

PURCHASING FARM FOR SON (Special to Daily Times) AUCKLAND, Feb. 5. The writer of a series of very fully illustrated books dealing with the history, industry, and commerce of most of the British possessions, Mr Somerset Playne, arrived from England by the Oronsay. He is accompanied by Mrs Playne and his son, Mr F. C. Playne, for whom he intends to buy a farming property in the Dominion. Mr Playne visited New Zealand shortly before the war accompanied by a staff of 16 and prepared a work on the Dominion's history and its economic problems. He retired some considerable time ago.
