THE EX-CROWN PRINCE
ALLEGED SECRET ACTIVITIES CLOSELY WATCHED BY NAZIS (United Press Association) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) LONDON, Feb. 5. (Received Feb. 6, at 0.30 a.m.) The Daily Herald's Berlin correspondent says Herr Hitler has ordered a close watch to be kept on the movements of the, former Crown owing to alleged secret activities, including numerous meetings with German Army generals, some of whom are known to be lukewarm towards the Nazi regime, which is causing concern in Nazi circles, where it is recognised that the Prussian aristocracy would look for the former Crown Prince first and foremost if signs developed that Herr Hitler's grip on Germany was slipping. The former Crown Prince was allowed to return to Germany after three years' exile on condition that he did not participate in domestic or foreign politics. He has never allied himself with the Nazis, except for a brief appearance as a "motor stormtrooper."
