A claim for damages is being heard in the Supreme Court with respect to the death of Robert Kennedy Ritchie, who was killed on the pipe bridge over the Hutt River at Petone as the result of cases containing motor parts falling from a lorry on which they were being conveyed from the wharf to the Fort! assembly plant. The widow, on her behalf and on behalf of her 12-year-old son, is seeking £l4 IDs special damages for funeral expenses and £3OOO general damages from the firm of Barton, Ginger, and Co., carrying and forwarding agents. .
