COOK STRAIT AIRWAYS
CARRIAGE OF PASSENGERS NEW RECORD FOR JANUARY (Peb United Press Association) NELSON. Feb. 4. During January the Cook Strait Airways had a record month, carryI ing 1695 paying passengers. The previous record was in December, when 1344 passengers were carried. In January of last year, the first month of the service, the number of passengers carried was 985. The ! large number of trips made may be gauged in a measure by the fact i that six passengers only can be car- ' ried, and as weight is the greatest consideration if a more sturdy section of the population happens to want to travel at the same time the number of passengers will be reduced to four.
