CHARGE AGAINST WOMAN JUDGE'S SUGGESTION TO PRESS (Peb United Press Association) WELLINGTON, Feb. 3. Charged as the result of the discovery of remains at Hastings, Isabel Annie Aves, alias Craike, is standing her third trial on seven counts of allegedly using an instrument with intent to procure a certain result. The hearing was opened in a cleared court before the Chief Justice (Sir Michael Myers), but publication *of the proceedings was not forbidden. The judge, however, suggested to the press that it would be better not to publish the names of the persons directly concerned—the women concerned.

"I don't wish to dictate to the press on questions of taste," he said, "but I recommend strongly that the names should not be published, because there are more ways than one of looking at it, and I prefer to leave that to the discretion and good taste of the press, which, in my experience, does consider the public interest, and also endeavours to do what is in good taste in these matters."
