CATTLE PRICES EASIER FAT CATTLE Another fairly large yarding of 340 fat cattle came forward for yesterday's Burnside market, included in this being three or four trucks of prime quality bullocks, the balance being made up of medium-weight bullocks, with a bigger proportion than usual of cows and heifers. The quality generally was equal to that of last week. The sale opened with prices on a par with last week's rates for all prime quality bullocks, but cows and heifers showed a decline of 10s per head. FAT SHEEP The entry in the fat sheep section was 1560 head, comprising a bigger proportion of prime butchers' wethers than has been on offer for some time, there being a smaller percentage of ewes yarded. The quality generally was good for both wethers and ewes. The market for all prime butchers' wethers was on a par with last week's average prices, with heavy ewes showing a decline of Is to 2s per head. The sale remained firm until over the concluding races, when prices were hardly up to the opening rates.
