The ideal gift—6s LAVENDER. Soothing, refreshing, fragrant. In dainty bottles, flasks, and decanters. All chemists. Sharland's. wholesale distributors.—Advt. Firemen used wine to put out a fire at Valiki Kikinda, Jugoslavia. A number of hayricks burst into flames and the fire threatened to destroy farm buildings, doing thousands of pounds worth of damage. When the firemen arrived on the scene they found that the only source of water—a well—was dry. Without hesitating, the owner of the ricks, Hajnrik Blasman, had dozens of barrels of wine rolled to the well and tipped in. Then the wine was pumpeo on to the flames, which were put out before they could get a hold on the farm buildings.
