OTAGO r. ST. CLAIR The final of the quarterly series of interclub matches between Otago and St. Clair to decide the holders of the Challenge Cup for 1937 was interrupted by adverse weather conditions during play in the afternoon round for the Singles matches, but the issue was already decided in favour of Otago by their win of 3£ games to 2J in the Foursomes. The totals of the previous matches stood at 33£ games for Otago and 20J for St. Clair, so obviously Otago's lead could not be overtaken in the remaining 12 Singles games, some of which were abandoned. The following are the results of the Foursomes matches, Otago names first: —K. Ross and A. G. Sime lost to J. E. Matheson and D. C. Bennie 2 and 1, T. B. Ferguson and J. A. Scouler lost to C. B. Wight and W. Clayton 2 and 1, W. G. Wight and J. R. Laidlaw defeated C. Rhodes and A. Lawrence 2 and 1. J. W. M'lntosh and J. H. M'Dougall squared with D. S. M'Lean and H. A. Gamble, S. E. Field and H.-J. Grayson defeated F. V. Drake and A. J. Aitken 1 up, T. C. Tyrell and A. Lucas defeated L. T. M'Cormack and W. H. Satterthwaite 4 and 3.

In the Singles the only four matches which were completed out of the 12 resulted as follows:—K. Ross defeated J. E. Matheson 1 up, A. G. Sime defeated D. C. Bennie 2 up, S. E. Field lost to F. V. Drake 2 and 1, H. J. Grayson lost to A. J. Aitken 4 and 2.

In the B team Foursomes honours were even with 3 games all, these being played on handicap and resulting as follows:—W. S. Stewart and H. Shand defeated F. Duthie and A. B. Watt 1 up, R. R. Aspinall, jun., and D. A. Ferguson lost to F. W. Dixon and J. W. Bain 5 and 4, L. B. Whinam and H. Brasch lost to W. D. M'Kenzie and S. G. Cooke 5 and 4, C. W. Glover and R. D. B. Paterson defeated W. A. Mitson and G. Kemp 2 and 1, R. S, Bevan and G. H. Seddon defeated V. Fahey and W. M'Ghie 3 and 2, D. Wright and P. S. Glasson lost to E. N. Elder and F. D. Stewart 3 and 1. ST. CLAIR CLUB ' A good field participated in the monthly Stroke Handicap on Saturday afternoon, when a strong northerly wind made conditions difficult for good scoring, but nevertheless some good cards were returned. J. E. Matheson won the A Grade with a net 69, the leading scores in the B Grade bein 1 , A. G. Bayliss and E. W. Bolwell each with 70 net. The following were tIVJ best cards returned:— A GRADE

JUNIOR CUP FINAL A. Jefferson registered a decisive win in the Junior Cup event by defeating R. T. Simpson by 7 up and 6 to play. The winner maintained the consistent form displayed in the earlier matches, while his opponent failed to play up to his usual standard. Jefferson had a lead of 5 up at the turn, and finished the match on the twelfth green.
