o The Admiralty is about to launch a big recruiting drive to secure the additional man-power necesssry for the expansion of the Navy. Two hundred and fifty retired naval officers have already been enrolled as honorary lecturers in support of this campaign. Their activities will be conti-olled and co-ordinated by Rear-admiral P. Macnamara (retired). The whole country has been mapped out into districts, and a list compiled of the schools, technical institutes, clubs, and institutes in each district. It is proposed to deliver lectures at as many of these as may desire to hear them. In this way it is hoped to promote knowledge of the navy and stimulate interest in it among all classes and sections of the community. Confidence is expressed in the success of this movement, which is the first of its kind to be undertaken on so large a scale.
