COMMONWEALTH'S ACTION LEGALITY MAY BE TESTED (United Press Association) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) CANBERRA, Dec. 2. Mrs Freer will be given a further dictation test in a European language when she arrives on the Awatea on Friday. It Is understood that the legality of the Government's action will be tested in the law courts by Mrs Freer's legal advisers. Mr Menzies and Mr Hughes were two Ministers who favoured lifting the ban. WRIT OF HABEAS CORPUS SYDNEY, Dec. 3. (Received Dec. 3, at 11.30 p.m.) The arrival of Mrs Freer by the Awatea to-morrow morning is awaited with considerable interest. A firm of Sydney solicitors is preparing to move for a writ of habeas corpus with a view to testing the legality of Mrs Freer's exclusion. The police intend to guard the wharf as it has been reported that numbers of women's organisations intend to make a demonstration when the liner berths.
