Vice-Regal Their Excellencies the GovernorGeneral, Viscount Galway, and Lady Galway, will arrive at Dunedin this afternoon by the express from the North. They will be met by the Mayor (the Rev. E. T. Cox). In the evening his Excellency will attend a gathering of the Imperial Ex-servicemen's Association at 7.30. Messrs W. Fels and J. H. A Press Association cable message from Sydney states that Mr lan Georgo Esplin, aged 22, has been chosen as the New South Wales Rhodes scholar for 1937. Messrs Newman Wilson and A, H. Allen returned on Saturday afternoon from Wellington, where they attended the annual meeting of the Associated Chambers of Commerce.

Messrs J. S. Hislop and H. H. Sykes, auditors of the Union Steam Ship Company, returned to Dunedin on Saturday from Wellington. Mr D. M. Robertson, who has been sanitary inspector for the Dunedin City Council for the past year, has been appointed to the Government Health Department as inspector of health at Pahiatua. He will leave for the north at the end of the week. . The Union Airways liner Karoro left the Taieri airport at 8.15 a.m. on Saturday for Christchurch, Blenheim, and Palmerston North with Sir Hugh Acland Mr W. G. V. Fernie, and Miss I. G'ilmour for Christchurch and Mr W A. Simpson for Wellington. The Koluku arrived from the .north at 12 55 p.m. with Mr P. A. Matheson from Palmerston North and Mrs E. Robinson and Mr Herron from Christchurch. The Kotuku left the Taieri at 8.15 a.m. yesterday for Christchurch. Blenheim and Palmerston North with Messrs J. M'Allan and C. W Whetter for Christchurch. Dr J. P. S. Jamieson for Nelson, and Mr P. A. Matheson for Palmerston North. The Karoro arrived from the north at 12.57 p.m. with Mrs R. G. Cowie from Palmerston North and Messrs J. F. Watson and F. Arthur from Christchurch.
