FAKED LEWD PICTURES
BLACKMAILERS IN AMERICA A NUMBER OF ARRESTS BUFFALO, Nov. 19. (Received Nov. 20, at 7 p.m.) The use of the photographic equipment of the Bertillon department of North Dakota Prison to produce faked lewd pictures, designed for use in extortion against the noted opera stars, Lily Pons and Rosa and Carmela Ponselle, was revealed after the arrest of five men, one of whom was a prison guard and another a life-term murderer. Information obtained by the prison warden led to the apprehension of the prison inmates and a Buffalo group, includ ing a woman, which carried out blackmail.
