TOWN HALL DANCE
With the advance of the times those who “ trip the light fantastic ” are demanding the best facilities and surroundings. To meet this the management of the Town Hall dances commenced with the Concert Chamber of the Town Hall, but owing to the public flocking to this dance it was necessary to transfer to the main Town Hall, and for the two weeks the dance has now been held there huge attendances have been the order. Last Saturday over 1000 attended. To-night the scene of the gathering will again be at the big hall, and once more there will be novelties to keep the patrons’ Interest alive until midnight. One of the most attractive one-night Monte Carlos ever offered in Dunedin will be competed for. The prize for the woman is one of the latest in fur coatee evening wraps. The man’s prize is the latest in a sports suit. Until Jack M'Caw’s versatile Mayfair Dance Band strikes up at 8 o’clock there will be dancing from 7.15 to music supplied through Hogg’s amplifier, and to add novelty to this music Jack Stevens will combine vocal refrains. Jimmie M‘Farlane’s choruses will again be heard when the band takes over.
