Reports ol meetings ol branches are requested, but they should be furnished promptly, for the publication of reports that are not supplied within a week from the date of the meeting cannot be promised. Mrs Dale presided at the November meeting of the Maungati branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union. Members took part in a novel competition entitled “ Guessing Old Photographs.” Mrs Stewart gave a talk on her travels in Scotland, England, South America, and parts of the United States. As her talk was of interest to both young and old, the local school children and those from Craigmore Downs were invited to be present, and Eric Hines, on behalf of the pupils, in a neat little speech, heartily thanked Mrs Stewart for her address. The winners of competitions were Mesdames Smith, Dale. Calder, Eggleton. and Cookson, and Miss Eggleton. The Clyde branch met on November 13. Mrs Annan presided. Hostesses were Mesdarnes Hewitson, Tattersfleld, Wilson, and Woods. A special meeting to welcome Mrs Elliot ana Miss Borrie was held on November 3. The final monthly meeting of the Kelso branch was held at Mrs A. Stuart’s residence. The roll call was “ Household hints.” In a competition, “Best posy made in 10 minutes,” Mrs Winslade was first and second, and Mrs Kerse third. The hostesses were Mrs Stuart and Miss J Stuart At the monthly meeting of the Clandeboye branch a collection was taken up on behalf of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. A demonstration or, the making of a Victorian posy was given by Mrs D. C. Clark, of Temuka, and Miss Dorothy Keys gave a demon'(ration of beaten brass work. The competitions resulted:—Best bloom—Mrs Livesey 1, Mrs Radburn 2, Miss Goodson and Miss Livesey (equal) 3; butter sponge—Miss Flett 1 Miss Livesey 2, Miss Drake 3. Misses Flett, Goodson and Hickey were hostesses. * * * At the meeting of the Weston branch Mrs Burdett presided. Congratulations were extended to Miss B. Falloon on her success in the Educational Week Essay Competition. Miss B. Falloon then gave an address on the activities of the Educational Week. The roll call was “A verse of poetry by Robert Burns.” A lecture was given by Mrs Gemmell on the life of this favourite poet. Several poems were read by Mesdarnes Third. Gibson and Weaver, and Mrs Cairns and Miss E. Mitchell rendered songs. Mrs Miller assisted at the piano. The hostesses were Misses Falloon, E. Mitchell and M. Mitchell. Folk dancing concluded the afternoon. An enjoyable evening was spent at Mrs Herron’s home for the final meeting of the Five Forks branch. One competition was won by Miss A. Camp' bell, and another by Miss N. Clark. The hostesses were Mrs Herron. Miss D. Herron, and Miss Gillies.
