DESECRATION OF CENOTAPH
“ EXTRANEOUS FORCES AT WORK ” (Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND, Nov. 20. A statement disclaiming association with the desecration of the Cenotaph at the Auckland War Memorial Museum was made on behalf of the World Peace League by the secretary (Mr R. L. Sangster), A development has been the notification by Mr W. J. Lyon, M.P., that he .ill not address a meeting called under the auspices of the league because he had “ discovered that extraneous forces were at work, culminating in the act of vandalism on the Cenotaph.”
