SPECTACULAR BLAZE
BIG HOTEL DESTROYED BOARDERS' HURRIED ESCAPE (Peb United Press Association) GISBORNE, Nov. 8. Late on Saturday evening a spectacular blaze was witnessed at Ormond, 10 miles from Gisborne, when a two-storey wooden hotel of 22 rooms, the Ormond Hall next door, and portion of the sale yards were completely destroyed. Several boarders in the hotel were informed by the owner, and the licensee (Mr V. S. Bolton), and all escaped hurriedly with the loss oi practically all their personal effects.
