FINDING THE BEST MATERIALS EXPERIMENTS IN BRITAIN (British Official Wireless) RUGBY, Oct. 5. (Received Oct. 6, at 5.5 p.m.) More than 60 experiments have been begun by the Roads Department and the Ministry of Transport under the guidance of a Techincal Committee, with the object of finding the best materials for construction and surface treatment of roads. These experiments relate to determination of the best colour for road surface: from the point of view of night driving, to the durability of various forms of top dressings, and to the problem of skidding.
