THE KEAS FOR GERMANY
ARRIVAL IN ENGLAND TO BE FLOWN TO BERLIN LONDON, Oct. 5. For the first time in history eight out of nine keas from New Zealand, the gift of Herr Bruno Beyer to the Berlin Zoo, survived the voyage to England, whence they will be sent by air to Berlin. The statement in the above message that nine keas were sent is incorrect; there were only eight. It says a lot for the hardihood of these birds that they should all survive the heat of the tropics.
