THE WEATHER
There was a slight breeze from the south-west yesterday, and passing clouds obscured the sun from time to time. In the late afternoon rain threatened. The maximum temperature was 60 degrees, and the barometer registered 29.80 in the evening. REPORTS FROM THE NORTH* (Special to Daily Times) AUCKLAND, Oct. 6. A light north-west wind, with overcast and threatened weather prevailed to-day, continuous light rain-being experienced after mid-day. After falling slightly during the afternoon, the barometer remained stoady as 30.20 in. WELLINGTON, Oct. 6. It was dull and threatening throughout the day, with a strong gusty northwesterly wind. The minimum last night was 49.0 deg and the maximum to-day 58.8 deg. CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 6. The weather to-day was fine but cloudy, with a very strong east-north-east wind in the morning and a strong easterly in the afternoon. The maximum temperature was 56.6 degrees. The barometer, after falling slowly, is now rising, and registers 30.01 inches.
