The first motor car built in China by Chinese engineers has been completed and successfully tested in Changsha, the capital of Hunan. The provincial authorities have asked the Central Government for 2,000,000 Chinese dollars (£117.700) to build a factory capable of producing 40 cars dailv The experimental car cost 5000 Chinese dollars (£295) and took two years to perfect. Special machinery is to be imported from Europe to reduce production costs in the new factory.
