GRADUATED LAND TAX
PROTEST BY WANGANUI FARMERS (Per United Press Association WANGANUI, August 19. The following resolution was carried by a well-attended meeting of the Wanganui provincial executive of the Farmers' Union to-day—- " That this meeting of farmers strongly protests against the proposed substantia] increase in taxation, as set out in the Budget, especially the graduated land tax. and considers that, if it is imposed, it will bo a further heavy cost against primary production, which cost has already been considerably increased by the recent legislation.
