"BRAVEST CONSTABLE"
"There are many brave men in the London Police Force, but none, I think, braver than this one," said Mr Drummelt, the Bow Street magistrate, in presenting a cheque for £lO to Police Constable Lawrence Perigo for stopping a runaway horse, and in doing so saving children from great danger. The constable was dragged 100 yards, and his spine was injured, but again he overlook the runaway and stopped it after he had been dragged another 120 yards.
