ELECTION OF A CHAIRMAN CANTERBURY EDUCATION BOARD <Pkr United Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, August 19. The Canterbury Education Board to-day decided who was to be its chairman for the next 12 months by drawing a naniefrom There were two candidates, Mr U S. Thompson, chairman for' the 12 months just past, and Mr J. w. Preen, of TJmaru, both of whom had secured five votes in the ballot.
