M'GLASHAN COLLEGE
ANNUAL BOXING TOURNEY The annual boxing tournament of the John M'Glashan College was held last night, and provided the spectators with many interesting bouts, all of which were of three one-minute rounds. The school championship went to L. Baker, who defeated L. Sutton in a somewhat uninteresting contest The officials for the evening wore as follows;— Announcer, Mr R. S. Glcndining; referees—Messrs J. Kilmartin, D. Paterson, and R. Fulcher; timekeepers, Messrs J. Glover and W. D. Wilson. The principal (Mr R. G. C. M'Nab) thanked the officials of the Otago Boxing Association for conducting the tourney, and also expressed appreciation of the services rendered by the instructor (Mr Oxley) and his assistant (Mr Macdonald). Replying, Mr Glcndining gave some helpful advice to the boys, and congratulated them on their exhibitions. The following are the results of the bouts.— G. Shand (6st 101 b) defeated G. Jenkins (sst 51b). L. Gilbert (4st 81b) defeated R. Wallace (4st 91b). K. Ross <sst 51b) defeated G. Irvine (sst 21b). R. Elvidge (Bst 101 b) defeated W. Carson (Bst 131 b). College Championship L. Baker (9st 101 b) defeated L. Sutton (Ost 61b).
