SUPERANNUATION FUND

THE PUBLIC SERVICE ANNUAL REPORT OF BOARD (From Our Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, August 18. The annual report of the Public Service Superannuation Board for the year ended March 31, 1936, which was presented to Parliament to-day, shows that the total number of public servants contributing to the fund at the end of the year was 19,199. Their annual salary earnings aggregated £4,946,468 and their annual contributions to the fund totalled £263,078. During the year 1760 new contributors joined the scheme. The report stales that the total income for the year was £565,307, including members’ ordinary contributions, amounting to £256,425, contributions from the Government totalling £147,952, and interest amounting to £151,599. The pensions paid during the year amounted to £494,988, the total outgoings being £548,518. The accumulated funds at the end of the year were £2,934,239 and the total assets of the fund amounted to £3,028,433.
