StafT Sergeant-major W. R. C. Whyte left yesterday morning for Duntroon on departmental business. Mr A. W. Jeavons was a passenger by yesterday morning’s express on nis way to Wellington. Mr W. B. The Korimako arrived at 1 p.m. from Palmerston North, via Blenheim and Christchurch, with Mr and Mrs W. B. Cunningham and Mr W. H. Fortune from Christchurch. A tribute to the memory of a staunch supporter of the Union Football Club was paid by Mr H. Harris at the annual smoke concert of the club last night, when he unveiled a memorialphotograph of Mr W. N. Vorrath, whose death occurred about two years ago. Mr Vorrath. Mr Harris said, had been deputy club captain from 1930 to 1934. and had done much to bring the club to the position it had attained to-day.
